What is seasoned firewood?

1/19/2021

First you need a quarter cup of good quality port wine and fresh black pep….Nahhhh, that’s not it. Seasoned firewood is wood that has been cut, stacked, covered and dried to remove as much moisture as possible. Fresh cut wood can contain up to 50% moisture, so seasoned fire wood which should contain less than 20% moisture is highly advisable. Make sure that when your seasoned firewood is delivered, you have an accessible and covered space in which to properly stack it. Keep the stack off the ground, make sure it is stacked loosely and always make sure the cut ends are exposed! That’s how your wood keeps drying long after you have stacked it!
