Outgrowing Your Pot? How To Transplant Your Houseplant!

Transplanting houseplants is a vital process to ensure their healthy growth and development. When a houseplant outgrows its current container, its roots become cramped, leading to poor water and nutrient absorption. To transplant, select a pot that is one size larger than the current one, ensuring it has drainage holes. Gently remove the plant from its old pot, taking care not to damage the roots. Loosen the root ball slightly to encourage new growth. Place a layer of fresh potting soil in the new pot, position the plant, and fill in with more soil, pressing lightly to eliminate air pockets.  Be sure you check what kind of soil works best for your plants new home to ensure its stays happy. Water the plant thoroughly to help it settle. Transplanting is best done during the growing season, typically in spring or early summer, to minimize stress on the plant. Regularly checking if your houseplants need more space can keep them thriving and beautiful.
